In Connected Business, you can now automatically generate labels for shipments that contain prepacked items along with regular items. When the system detects that a prepacked item is included in the shipment, a pop up message will confirm if you want to automate the creation of label. This blog post will show you how to process shipment transactions with prepacked along with other items (that is not prepacked).
Requirements needed before creating a shipment transaction:
- Prepacked Items should be setup correctly in its corresponding Item form.
- Carrier Account must also be setup correctly.
To create a shipping transaction with prepacked and regular items, you must first create a sales order or invoice. Include items that are regular and prepacked. Save the sales order/sales invoice, then click on the Shipment List tab. Click Yes on the Shipping pop up window.
For any shipment transaction, once the system detects that a prepacked item is included, a pop up message will ask you if you want to automatically generate a label for the prepacked item(s). When you click Yes on the pop up window, a label will then be generated.
A separate label and package will be generated for each prepacked item. Thus, if you have X number of prepacked items to ship in a shipment transaction, the system will also generate X number of labels for each package.

Notice that a second package was generated BUT with no label yet. For those items that are to be shipped along the prepacked item(s), they will be contained into a single package with its corresponding label.

When you click on the second package, you will need to press [F12] or click Get Label button to generate a label for the regular items. You may now view and print each label by clicking on the Preview Labelbutton on the packages section. When you’re done, you may click the Savebutton to apply the changes made.
You may also use the Print button from the menu options of the Shipment form to automatically print all the generated shipping labels.

On the other hand, selecting the NO option on the confirmation window will let you click the Get Label button. The system will automatically generate the labels for all regular items first, followed by the labels for prepacked items. Now, that’s pretty amazing!
