When you buy an item online, being able to know how much the shipping and handling cost for your orders makes you comfortable in making the purchase. This is also the same when your buyers knew exactly how much the shipping will cost to their specific location.

In Connected Business, getting the shipping rates before making the actual purchase is made possible now that we have added the Shipping Calculator in the Shopping Cart page. With this feature, you will be able to see the shipment rates based on the specified country, state, and postal code before checking out.

To use the Shipping Calculator, add an item to your cart and view the shopping cart page. In the shopping cart page, go to the Estimate Shipping section. The address indicated is the primary shipping address for your account. Simply click the Calculate Shipping button and the list of all shipment rates for each shipping method will be displayed.

If you want to get the rates for a different address, just change the postal code and the system will automatically update the city and the state. Cllick the Calculate Shipping button to get the new shipment rates.

To enable this feature, all you have to do is open the Connected Business application and go to eCommerce module > Setup > Application Configuration. In the Application Configuration form, search for the ShippingCalculator.Enabled appconfig and set the config value to True.Click Save or Save and Close to apply changes.

Once enabled, registered and anonymous customers will be able to see the shipment rates specific to their address before registering and/or doing a checkout.

Aside from the address, shipment rates will also depend on how the shipping methods are set up in Connected Business (real time shipping, general freight, etc.).
