Similar to customer back orders, Connected Business has provided a way for you to allow back orders from your suppliers. The system is now able to automatically complete a Purchase Order regardless if the quantity received is less than the outstanding ordered quantity.
This gives you the flexibility to complete and control purchases while tracking and managing supplies from your suppliers.
The Allow Back Order option, available in Supplier and Purchase Order forms, enables you to create back order on individual Purchase Orders created for a particular supplier. When this option is enabled in the Supplier form, it will automatically apply on the succeeding Purchase Orders for the selected supplier.
Supplier Back Order Workflow. The process below shows how the back order option works in Purchase Orders in Connected Business.

The Back Order option in the Supplier module allows you to track Purchase Orders that are completed or partially completed, provided that the Goods Received forms are posted. All Purchase Order records can be found from the Supplier > Find Purchase Order.
Enable Allow Back Order Option on Purchase Orders. You have the option to either modify the item quantity in the Goods Received form to automatically update in the Purchase Order form or keep the quantity as is.If enabled, a pop-up form will always appear asking to confirm the quantities entered. This is to avoid any errors on the purchase orders.

Disable Allow Back Order Option on Purchase Orders. No pop-up form will appear. The system will automatically consider the purchase order to be completed regardless of the number of items received, thus, you will have no partial purchase orders in your records.
